Service Animals

This academic year, several students will be accompanied on campus by their working dogs, or service animals. The student is referred to as the dog’s ‘handler’. Because this may be a new experience for some in the campus community, Disability Services would like to provide some basic information about these handlers and their working animals who are within our campus community.

Service animals are dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. The Office of Disability Services at SDSU recognizes the importance of a service animal and encourages students who seek this accommodation on campus to view the informational video and documents on this page and within the dropdown menu.
