Biography

16 years of laboratory bench experience with the last 8 as a microbiologist. She received her Associates as an MLT in 2004, Bachelor’s in 2007, and Master’s in MLS in 2010 from the University of North Dakota and is currently attending the University of Texas-Medical Branch for her DCLS. Steph is a Certified Online Instructor and Advisor for SDSU for the last 6 years. She is well versed in all MLS curriculum subject matter, with an emphasis on microbiology, immunology and hemostasis. She is the current ASCLS-SD Board of Directors, PACE Coordinator, and National Vice Chair of the Microbiology Scientific Assembly. She also serves on several community and academic committees. She has contributed to several publications; including the 15th edition of the Bailey & Scott's Diagnostic Microbiology Textbook, to be published 2020. She received the Distinguished Author award in 2014 and received the State and National Omicron Sigma award in 2019 and 2020.
