Biography

Dr. Arends graduated from Briar Cliff University in 2001 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree. She worked as a registered nurse in the Critical Care Unit at Sanford Medical Center. She graduated from South Dakota State University with her Masters of Science degree in the Family Nurse Specialization in 2008 and with her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree in 2014. In 2021, she graduated from South Dakota State University with her post-graduate certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Falls Community Health, and more recently, at Avera eCare in the eCare Senior Care Program. She taught at the University of South Dakota in the Associate of Nursing Degree program from 2005- 2008. She began teaching at South Dakota State University in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program in 2011.
