Applications of Research

Administrative and environmental changes made to promote better air quality for animals and humans in the study setting, disseminate to broader practice. Better understanding of protective gear necessary in the study setting with application to wider practice.

Occupational and Environmental Health Study:
Respiratory health in animal confinement. Analysis of air quality and contaminants in hog confinement facility. Effect of these contaminants on pulmonary function. Quantitative study done at University of Iowa College of Nursing and College of Public Health.

Academic Responsibilities

Provide didactic instruction and clinical mentoring of Advanced Practice students in clinical and classroom setting. Develop and teach DNP and Masters Advanced Practice Nursing curricula that align with CCNE and NONPF criteria for Advanced Practice. Provide online class delivery and simulation methodologies. MSN and DNP scholarship committee service. Continuous research and development activities. . Participate in and implement departmental and college program reviews. Participate in additional faculty responsibilities, including college committee responsibilities related to professional and academic matters.
