Biography

I have worked for SDSU Extension for 15 years, seven years in Grant County, 8 years in Roberts County.
I was born in Australia, raised in Oregon, and have now lived in the great state of South Dakota for thirty-three years. I live on a farm with my husband Michael and am the mother of three children, Robert, age 30, Allen, Age 29, and Melinda, Age 25, a son-in-law, Dan, and an adorable 10 month old grandson, Brian. I love paint-by- number, playing the piano, and vintage travel trailers.

Education

Studied in Portland Oregon and have Dietetic Assistant Certification and Serve Safe certification. Also National Nutrition Paraprofessional Certification.

Committee Activities

I am currently serving on the Health Literacy committee for National Health Outreach.

Extension Responsibilities

I am a Nutrition Assistant with the EFNEP and SNAP-Ed programs. I teach basic nutrition, food safety, food resource management, and physical activity to low income adults, senior citizens, and youth.

Awards and Honors

In May, 2013 I received the honor of Career Service Employee of the Month.

Work Experience

Have worked in the food service industry prior to appointment with SDSU Extension.
