Biography

Kathryn D. Coduto (Ph.D., Ohio State University) is an Assistant Professor of Communication and Media Studies at South Dakota State University. Kathryn teaches courses in both mass communication and communication studies. Courses include Introduction to Mass Communication, Mass Media in Society, and Principles of Public Relations, as well as graduate-level Research Methods in Communication.

In addition to teaching, Kathryn researches the intersections of mass media and interpersonal communication. Recent work has focused on mobile dating application uses and outcomes. Her work has been published in the Journal of Social & Personal Relationships, Political Communication, and Telematics and Informatics.

Before returning to school for her Ph.D., Kathryn worked as a strategist and account planner for Marcus Thomas, an integrated marketing communications company in Cleveland, Ohio.
