BiographyIn 2012, when I became the university’s research writer, I felt that I had spent my entire life preparing for this job—working with engineers, doing marketing for a microelectronics company and helping promote SDSU’s METLAB, as well as teaching business and technical writing. It is my privilege to be able explain how the exciting discoveries our researchers are making can impact our lives and our world.
EducationMaster's in English with minor in journalism from South Dakota State University
Bachelor's in journalism with minors in Spanish and Sociology along with teaching certificate from South Dakota State University
Academic Interests/ExpertiseTaught freshman composition and basic writing in the SDSU English Department for seven years and composition and business writing at North Dakota State University for three years.
Awards and HonorsCollege of Engineering Research Review received the silver award for the 2013 issue and the bronze award for the 2014 issue from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VI.
Spring 2015 SDSU Research Report received silver award from CASE District VI.
Work ExperienceDid marketing, identified funding opportunities and guided writing of those proposals for American Science and Technology, a microelectronics company, for six years. As part of this job, assisted SDSU METLAB by writing content for its website and doing articles on the research it was conducting.
