COVID-19 Response: Internal Update 3-15-2020

Campus Community –

Please see below some important information as it pertains to COVID-19 and its impact on campus operations.

Campus Mail and Deliveries

Facilities and Services’ customer service will be open this week Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon for essential mail, package shipping and receiving. They will contact USPS, UPS and Fed Ex to coordinate daily deliveries.

Faculty and staff expecting essential packages should email Marla Mitchell with tracking numbers, if possible, and sender information.

Facilities and Services will deliver essential packages that have the necessary information to make the delivery. All other packages will need to be picked up at customer service or will be delivered when campus reopens with a full staff.

Deliveries to ADRDL will continue as usual in addition to critical and necessary products utilized in the Avera Health and Science Center.

Online Class Delivery Preparation

As faculty continue to prepare for the possibility of online class delivery, Information Technology has developed a resource page to assist faculty members with the loading of information.

The page is located on InsideState under the Academic Continuity Planning section.

Facilities and Services Cleaning Schedule

Facilities and Services continues its process of fogging public areas in campus buildings, hallways, entries, classrooms and conference rooms. The fogging will continue today through Wednesday with normal custodial services scheduled to resume Wednesday night.

Buildings that have been completed include: Avera Health and Science Center, Morrill Hall, Old Horticulture, Facilities and Services, the Barn, Central Heating Plant, Central Cooling Plant, DePuy Military Hall, Wagner Hall, Bailey Rotunda Hall and the University Student Union.

Thank you for your continued attention to these important messages during such an unprecedented time. The university remains committed to its core values that include being people-centered. We consider the safety and well-being of our employees paramount as we continue to operate and service our community.

COVID-19 is a global concern and our primary focus is preventing its spread. Please note that SDSU’s nondiscrimination policies are in effect and that harassment and discrimination against anyone—either in person or virtually—will not be tolerated.

The Office of Title IX/EO remains open to address any allegations that arise. As always, complaints can be reported online or via email. Individuals can also call 605-688-4128.

For well-being purposes, meetings with Title IX/EO staff will likely be conducted via Zoom or telephone.
