The Medical Laboratory Science Upward Mobility bachelor’s degree equips you to continue pursuing your interests with an added level of expertise. The MLT to MLS courses provide a strong scientific background in Hematology, Hemostasis, Chemistry, Molecular Diagnostics, Immunohematology, Immunology and specialized testing. Clinical practice is another key component of the program. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to take the certification examination as a medical laboratory scientist from the Board of Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Due to the advanced nature of the program, you must have documentation of at least two years work experience in a clinical laboratory, completion of an accredited certificate program in medical laboratory science and successful completion of SDSU general education requirements or an academic plan of completion approved by the MLS program director.
MLS Program Application and Statement of Support must be completed prior to beginning the MLS Core Curriculum.
