Degree Program: Master's in Family & Consumer Sciences Education >>
Graduation Year: 2014
Why did you choose to further your education online?
This program will enhance my abilities with my current career. With the online option, I am able to continue to fulfill my current career obligations and have the flexibility of completing course work during the hours I'm available.
What interests you about your major?
The FCS field is relevant to everyone. My focus is Health and Wellness and this, I feel, is a critical subject area for all students.
What has been your most interesting class?
Teaching with technology with Dr. DeBates. This course made me aware of so many resources available to educators. These resources are accessible, user friendly and can strongly enhance any course taught today
How have the faculty and staff enhanced your experience?
Katie Grayson responds to any/all my e-mails almost immediately. One of the drawbacks of online programs is feeling a bit "out of the loop". So having her available to answer questions as they come up have been great.
What is your favorite SDSU experience?
My most memorable experience at SDSU was during my undergrad course work. Friends and I would meet on Tuesday mornings at the union and have coffee and just relax. It was great opportunity for us to catch up and just take things in.
Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
I would love to continue my education even further. I would like to pursue a Ph.D. in Education.
What piece of advice would you give new online students?
Time and energy management is critical. The courses are still quite engaging and fun. You get out of it what you put in to it.
SDSU has a wide variety of online programs and courses for students who need the flexibility of anytime, anywhere education. Follow these steps to get started.
