*For SD Licensure you must complete the FCSE endorsement of 20 credits, pass the PRAXIS exams and complete the Indians of North America requirement. 24:15:06:42. 7-12 family and consumer science education endorsement program. A 7-12 family and consumer science education endorsement program requires the passage of the designated state test and 20 semester hours of coursework, which include: six semester hours in nutrition and wellness, six semester hours in consumer and resource management, three semester hours in human development, three semester hours in family studies, and two semester hours of career and technical education preparation. Requirements for licensure vary by state. Assistance will be provided to candidates in contacting the licensing authority in their home states and understanding the requirements for licensure prior to completion of the South Dakota State University program.
