What is a digital badge?

A digital badge is a digital representation of an individual’s achievements and are designed to be easily shareable and verifiable. Digital badges communicate the following:

  • Who earned a badge
  • What criteria were met
  • Who issued the badge

An open digital badge allows others to see and verify this information. South Dakota State University has partnered with Credly to provide you with a secure and verifiable digital credential that highlights your skills.
