Agricultural Engineering Building

Located just east of the library, the brick structure contains classrooms, labs and shop areas for Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering Department, Water Resources Institute and the Mesonet at SDState.

Built in 1959 at a cost of $692,000.

The main floor has a large lecture hall, classrooms, labs, a senior design and precision agriculture computer lab and faculty offices. The department office and a large shop space are located on this floor as well. In the shop, students can work with different mechanics and machinery. Biomaterials processing and fabrication are also completed in the shop. Students get hands-on experience working with precision ag equipment such as Kubota tractors with auto-steer GPS software.

The second floor houses the Water Resources Institute and the Mesonet at SDState. It also has additional faculty, staff and graduate assistant offices, labs and classrooms.
