The College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences contains almost 2,500 students, 140 full-time faculty members, 15 departments, and one school – the School of Design. It’s a big place that is filled with potential growth and experiences for your son or daughter.
Selecting a major is not an exact science. Many students stick with their initial choice, and many do not. What major to pursue depends on a student’s abilities and interests. As for outside the classroom, activities and organizations abound within the College. Athletics, ROTC, the student newspaper and television shows, music, and theatre are only the tip of the iceberg.
Remember, going to college means change: new friends, new surroundings, and new challenges. Your student will need to make adjustments. That’s why each student at SDSU has an academic advisor, someone who can point your son or daughter in a helpful direction when he or she needs one.
The College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences welcomes you and your student and stands ready to assist in your family’s transition to college life. Feel free to contact the college with your questions and concerns.
