From welcoming students during new student orientation to helping prepare students for careers after graduation, we are here to help!
What We Do
- We coordinate student programming such as the CAFES Ice Cream Social, CAFES Careers Day and College Scholarship banquet.
- We work with our student organizations through the Prexy Council to bring the best possible experiences and opportunities to our students.
- Need help with registration? Have a question about a career? We can help you with a variety of items including pre-transfer evaluations, changing majors or academic advisors and determining graduation eligibility.
Through involvement in clubs and organizations, competitive teams, research, study abroad, and much more, students establish lifelong friendships, develop leadership skills, gain a better understanding of their profession, make a difference in communities and strengthen their resume for future employment.
College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences students have traveled to locations such as Africa, Argentina, Australia, China and England to expand their horizons and broaden their perspectives. We offer an ABS 482-582 International experience course, in addition to study-abroad and student-exchange programs.
Whatever your interest, undergraduate research means hands-on experience, working with faculty mentors and graduate students, scholarships and opportunities to publish and present at professional meetings. Such experience is invaluable preparation for employment and graduate or professional school.
Career-related professional experiences are important components of a quality college education. Many internships pay students just like a part-time job, and academic credit can be arranged for approved experiences. Apply your classroom knowledge to the real world, enhance your career network, and build your resume with valuable experiences.
Being on competitive teams is another way to get involved. Award winning, competitive student teams in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences include: crops, dairy cattle, dairy products, floral, livestock, meats, range, soils and wool.
