I’m very happy to announce a new service called iGrow, a free Web portal accessible on computers, smart phones, and mobile Internet devices. iGrow places more than a century of research and knowledge from the land-grant system at the fingertips of farmers and ranchers.
This one service gives producers all the information they need to monitor current developments in agriculture, research, and trade—farm-specific agricultural weather, profitability calculators, and libraries of agricultural production and management information, podcasts, and forums—all in a highly secure online environment.
The iGrow effort is a continuation of Extension’s long-standing mission to help citizens convert data to knowledge. This program allows us to bring together and prioritize, in one easy-to-use portal, all of the agricultural production information that producers need to make profit-oriented decisions.
Visit igrow.org for more information.
The SDSU College of Agriculture & Biological Sciences (ABS) website includes more than 2,000 pages within ABS departments, Extension, and the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. The ABS website has the most current information available on topics ranging from ABS classes to agricultural production.
The information presented here is relevant, easy to use, and highly credible. Every day, our scientists and Extension staff add even more. We want to be your first choice for information that is critical to life and profitability in South Dakota.
We welcome your comments and ideas as we continue to develop this virtual gateway to your land-grant institution.
