This web site is dedicated to the development of an international listing of IHC, PCR, and Serology tests performed by AAVLD accredited or affiliated veterinary diagnostic laboratories. Simultaneously, this site serves as a virtual bank to allow all participants to share positive controls whenever possible (i.e. formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue blocks used for immunohistochemistry (IHC)). This data has been collected from institutional user guides and from individuals responding to email requests posted on the AAVLD-listserv. Requests for positive controls or other assistance are to be made directly to the contact party listed in the appropriate section and not to this web site or hosting agency. The agency hosting of this web site provides no explicit or implicit warranty concerning the quality or utility of any test or positive control.

Participants are encouraged to make themselves aware of the criteria by which the controls are establish. For example, in the case of IHC positive tissue, were other tests such as virus isolation, fluorescent antibody testing, PCR, or other laboratory tests performed to confirm the positive status of the control tissue?

Note: The participating institutions listed have not agreed to share antibodies/primers/reagents/etc. If you are interested in finding a particular agent you will need to contact the appropriate party with that institution or check various manufacturing companies.

  1. A list of the tests performed in your laboratory. (Please be as specific as possible.)
  2. The URL of your laboratory home page.
  3. The name(s) and email address(es) of a person(s) willing to serve as the contact for your lab for each of the appropriate sections (i.e. IHC, PCR, or Serology).

To search for multiple tests simultaneously enter the first test, click the ADD button, and enter another test. Repeat as needed.
