Can I receive financial aid to help purchase my laptop?
If your major requires laptop usage, you can bring its invoice to Financial Aid for a one-time budget increase. For assistance or clarification of these guidelines, please call the Financial Aid office at 605.688.4695.
Can I purchase a laptop at eSDSU?
No, we are a service and support center only.
Does eSDSU have a trade-in program or can I buy a used laptop?

Do I need Windows XP or Windows Vista?
Both Windows XP and Windows Vista are compatible with the University's wireless networks and most software.
Should I buy a PC or a Mac for my major?
Most majors allow any computer to be used as long as the system meets the recommended specifications. We strongly encourage you to contact your college or department, though, for any additional specific requirements.
What software do I need for my laptop?
SDSU requires all computers to use Symantec Endpoint Protection for antivirus protection. Any other antivirus software will be uninstalled, so you need not purchase any prior to coming to campus.
We also suggest that Microsoft Office be installed. This software can be purchased from the SDSU Bookstore for both Windows and Mac systems for a discounted price. And, SDSU provides all students with Cisco NAC to login to wired and wireless networks.
