SDSU Rodeo “Alumni and Friends Challenge”

Facts:

Since our start in 1952, SDSU Rodeo now has over 1200 alumni and friends!

SDSU Rodeo has been a club sport for over 60 years and continues to rely heavily on private donations for support.

Team averages 55 traveling members per year with 65 competition horses. Total team travel costs are $20,000 per year.

The team expenses for leased indoor practice facility and horse boarding facility exceed $14,000 per year.

The challenge:

See which decade of SDSU Alumni, or SDSU Rodeo friends, are the most willing to donate at least $100 per year each to support the SDSU Rodeo team. Steers for State donations are included in contest and will be recognized.

The goal:

Help cover team practice and boarding facility expenses. Donations will be put toward the use of the Swiftel Center indoor practice facility lease and Rudes Boarding Stable expenses.

The reward:

Everyone that donates will receive:

  • SDSU Rodeo updates per e-mail
  • Their name listed in their respective category on the SDSU rodeo website (updated monthly for competition totals)
  • A team calendar at the beginning of the year
  • Winning group will be recognized in the Jackrabbit Stampede program, the annual Buckles and Bling Fundraiser, and have bragging rights until the next year’s competition ends.
