Tara Jeatran

Tara Jeatran CLASS OF '11

Sophomore

Hometown: Menomonee, Wisconsin

Major: Mechanical Engineering

Another Honors College perk: Great field trips. Tara recently traveled to San Antonio with her calculus professor, Dr. Dan Kemp, to present with him at the National Collegiate Honors Conference.

As a member of SDSU’s 120-member Women’s Choir, Tara has had a chance to meet women of all ages and interests. “There are no auditions for the choir, and no one is turned away,” she says. “Ms. Diddle, our director, welcomes every woman no matter her age or major or singing background. These are really terrific women. I’m thrilled to know them.”

Tara isn’t sure what she wants to do after graduation, but she’d like to return to Wisconsin. “I think airplanes and roller coasters are intriguing,” she says. “I may try to do some hands-on work with them.”

“The Honors College is great. It’s nice to live with people you’re taking a lot of your classes with—and it makes study groups easier to set up. All of us want to get our work done so we can go out and play, and it’s easier to do that when we’re all together.”
