“I’m so glad to be at SDSU,” says Jennifer. “I just can’t believe the type of work I can do in the Honors College. This semester, in organic chemistry, we figured out how to synthesize a drug and conduct a cost analysis. We even had to explain which companies we’d buy our chemicals from. It was amazing.

“I originally wanted to go to college farther from home, but I chose SDSU in the end because I could see that it gave undergrads really unusual opportunities,” continues Jennifer, who spent a semester in Valencia, Spain, during her sophomore year. “It’s virtually unheard of to do the kind of research we do in just our second semester.”

Jennifer is prepping for her fellowship at a leading regional hospital. She’ll be working with an endocrinologist studying bone cells and osteoporosis. How long ago did she graduate from SDSU? She didn’t. She’s barely a junior.
