If there is one thing we know about Erica Fleury it’s that she wants to help people. Not only does Erica plan to become a pharmacist after graduation (by the way, she’ll have her Pharm.D. in 2012), but she’s also super involved with different groups on campus geared toward helping other minority students adjust to college life, including the Native American Club and Minority Peer Mentor Program.
“The Minority Peer Mentor Program gives freshmen students a chance to be partnered up with another minority student mentor to make their transition to SDSU as smooth as possible,” says Erica.
And Erica can easily relate to these students: She expected SDSU to be huge change coming from a small community in South Dakota.
“My only concern was that I would become just another face in the crowd. I can honestly say that wasn’t the case. I have formed genuine relationships with my classmates and professors at SDSU.”
