College of Pharmacy Office of Experiential Education
The College of Pharmacy considers our pharmacist preceptors to be invaluable and necessary assets. Pharmacist preceptors teach students practice skills necessary to provide quality pharmacy care. In addition to serving as a teacher, pharmacist preceptors are mentors that promote personal and professional growth in student pharmacists.
Preceptor Training and Resources
In order to provide professional development opportunities, the Office of Experiential Education has developed a new preceptor education module that looks to answer some of the questions you might have about being a preceptor for the SDSU College of Pharmacy. If you complete the evaluation and questions found at the end, you are eligible for 0.5 hours of continuing pharmacy education credit. This education module is accessed through SDSU's learning management system, Desire2Learn. For access instructions, e-mail Dr. Jodi Heins.
The College of Pharmacy provides access to the Pharmacist's Letter Preceptor Training and Resource Network. This resource contains continuing education materials designed to promote preceptor development.
E*Value is an experiential education management program that allows students to maintain an electronic portfolio, complete site evaluations, and view both their IPPE and APPE schedule. Preceptors also use E*Value for submitting experiential education evaluations.
