Veterans' Benefits

The GI Bill contains details regarding Chapter eligibility requirements and applying for your benefits. After you have applied for your benefits, bring the documents corresponding to your Chapter to the SDSU Veterans Services Office.

Chapter 1606 and 1607 are for currently enlisted guard and reservists. Please bring a copy of your DD-214, your Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE), and Kicker Contract. Please contact the SDSU Veterans Affairs Office to complete the necessary paperwork at 688-4700.  Please keep in mind that the St. Louis Veterans' Office will take about 65 days to process your application.

Chapter 30 is for prior active duty service personnel. Please bring a copy of your DD-214. Please contact the SDSU Veterans Affairs Office to complete the necessary paperwork at 688-4700.

Chapter 31 is for disabled veterans of all military branches. Please contact the Sioux Falls or Rapid City Vocational Rehabilitation Office before applying to SDSU. All of your benefits will be handled through those offices. Please contact the SDSU Veterans Affairs Office to complete the necessary paperwork at 688-4700.

Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill) is for all eligible veterans and active military personnel. Some of these benefits can be passed on to your dependents. Please bring a copy of your DD-214 and a copy of your eligibility letter. Chapter 35 is for spouses and dependents of 100% disabled veterans. Please contact the SDSU Veterans Affairs Office to complete the necessary paperwork at 688-4700.
