The GI Bill contains details regarding Chapter eligibility requirements and applying for your benefits. After you have applied for your benefits, bring the documents corresponding to your Chapter to the SDSU Veterans Services Office.
Chapter 1606 are for currently enlisted guard and reservists. Please bring a copy of your DD-214, your Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE), and Kicker Contract. Please keep in mind that the St. Louis Veterans' Office will take about 65 days to process your application.
Chapter 30 is for prior active duty service personnel. Please bring a copy of your DD-214.
Chapter 31 is for disabled veterans of all military branches. Please contact the Sioux Falls or Rapid City Vocational Rehabilitation Office before applying to SDSU. All of your benefits will be handled through those offices.
Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill) is for all eligible veterans and active military personnel. Some of these benefits can be passed on to your dependents. Please bring a copy of your DD-214 and a copy of your eligibility letter.
Chapter 35 is for eligible dependents of Veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or of Veterans who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition.
