Showcasing SDSU

Whether it’s the College of Engineering’s Impulse magazine or Athletics’ Rabbit Tracks, our publications office serves a vital communications role at South Dakota State University.

The office manages nine magazines and newsletters, which showcase students, faculty, and alumni as they carry State’s message of opportunity to various audiences, both on and off campus. One of those, the weekly Newsline, is an electronic bulletin that informs the campus about everything from events to major announcements.

We regularly collaborate and consult with various campus departments and colleges about their communication needs. Our professional and experienced staff makes the publications shine through the creative work of several graphic designers and writers.      

Here, too, our responsibility is ensuring that SDSU’s name and logo is properly used in printing projects. We maintain the University Graphic Identity Manual and monitor University logos.  

As a result of our work in print and electronic media, we have received various awards, including the prestigious CASE Circle of Excellence Silver Medal Award. Our video work has resulted in several Telly Award honors, as well as various Addy Awards at the regional and national level.   

We are the university’s communications resource, providing publications and marketing services to the colleges and departments of South Dakota’s land-grant institution.
