Major event set to open Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium
South Dakota State University is hosting a news conference March 1 to unveil plans for a large-scale event that will mark the official grand opening of Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium in Brookings.
The event, which is expected to attract up to 25,000 people, will take place two days before the Jackrabbits host Drake on Sept. 10 for SDSU’s first football game in the new venue.
Speakers at the announcement include:
- David Chicoine, SDSU president;
- Dana Dykhouse, CEO of First PREMIER Bank;
- Justin Sell, SDSU director of athletics; and
- John Stiegelmeier, SDSU head football coach.
The announcement will begin at 2 p.m., in front of the videoboard at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex, located north of the new football stadium. Media outlets are invited to park in the lot to the southwest of the SJAC and enter through the door on the same side of the building.
