Helping students succeed
Uncertain about deciding a major? Have questions about career planning? Wonder what kind of academic tutoring exist? The dedicated faculty and staff in University College at South Dakota State University are here to answer those questions—and so much more.
Our focus is on you, the total person, from your transition to our campus as a new student to your professional employment development and finding a job you love after graduation, and every step in between, as our mission is to help students succeed academically, encourage lifelong learning, and prepare for satisfying careers and professional opportunities.
We do this by providing academic advising and career planning services and coursework. Students can take classes such as “University Experience” and “Mastering Lifetime Learning Skills” to assist in the transition from high school to college.
Students can also participate in academic success activities, such as tutoring assistance, through the Wintrode Tutoring Program, which offers free tutoring in a number of courses. Students at academic risk can benefit from our Academic Success Program, as we are dedicated to your scholastic success.
Plus, throughout the year we offer career fairs, mentorship programs, internships, and on-campus interviews with businesses, so that you’re ready for life after SDSU. We even have resources like Campanile Connections, which lets you post your resume and review job listings.
We know that as a student, you have lots of decisions to make. One of the best ones you can make is to start with University College—we’re here to see you through.
