Where ever the demand for intercultural, international, or global expertise in both public and private sectors exists, those trained in Global Studies will have a definite advantage over individuals trained in a single discipline. Many international employers look upon foreign language skills, international experience, and interdisciplinary training as virtual prerequisites for employment. Global Studies graduates will speak, read, and write a modern foreign language, will possess a strong background in global affairs, will be able to critically and analytically evaluate complex bodies of information, can embrace diversity, will be able to approach global problems from a multidisciplinary perspective, be able to express themselves well in speaking and in writing, and be able to formulate and defend various points of view with ample documentation. Such competencies, skills, tools, and attributes are of great value in various international and domestic job markets. |
