Geography Convention

The South Dakota State Geography Convention is the longest running student organized and sponsored annual meeting in the United States. Approximately ten eminent academic and applied geographers from around the region, the country, and Canada are invited to make presentations at the conference each spring. The Convention also features social activities, a Gamma Theta Upsilon initiation, and an awards banquet. Field trips are provided on occasion.

The 46th Annual South Dakota State Geography Convention will be held Thursday March 19 through Friday March 20, 2015. Events begin at 9:00 AM both days of the Convention. Events will be in the Volstorff Ballroom in the Student Union unless noted.

6:00pm Social at The Ram Pub Summit Room, Downtown Brookings


Friday March 20, 2015

9:00 am Convention Welcome
5:00pm Alumni Social in the Great Hall of the McCrory Gardens Visitor Center
6:00pm Annual Awards Banquet in the Great Hall of the McCrory Gardens Visitor Center
Tickets: $20 for Students, $25 for Faculty and Alumni
