At the heart of the disciplines housed in the College of Education and Human Sciences is the concept of transformation. Graduates of CEHS transform the lives of people around the world every day.

The new College of Education and Human Sciences at South Dakota State University resulted from the transformation and collaboration of:

• The College of Education and Counseling (former)
• The College of Family and Consumer Sciences (former)
• The department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation

These programs teamed up to design a vibrant community whose mission is to “develop the human potential by advancing teaching, learning, and scholarship for the purpose of enhancing individual, family, school, and community well-being.”

With a wide array of career opportunities, graduates of the College of Education and Human Sciences at SDSU will find themselves in the unique position of truly affecting change by instilling confidence, composure, dignity, and aesthetic appreciation in individuals throughout the global community.
