Building lifelong champions

“Go Big, Go Blue, Go Jacks” is resonating across South Dakota and beyond.

Whether it is our women’s basketball team winning the Summit League Championship and making an appearance in the Big Dance, the football’s team continuing excellence in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, or the women’s soccer and volleyball teams participating in a Division I postseason championship, our calling card is a relentless dedication to excellence.

With our focus on building lifelong champions, our dedicated group of coaches and staff teach and mentor student athletes—all 475 of them—into making a difference in the classroom and in Division I athletics. It’s working. With a 3.05 grade point average across 80 majors, our student athletes excel at a high rate. On a regular basis, they earn All-American and All-Conference honors, regional and national academic recognition—while contributing to public service.

Achievement by our student-athletes is supported by an increasing commitment to facility and equipment upgrades. Soon, the Dykhouse Center will open and will further enhance our firm academic commitment to student-athletes.

Clearly, something great is going on here. So come along, join Jackrabbit Nation and feel our pride.

Eighteen of SDSU’s 21 varsity sports participate in the competitive Summit League.

The Jacks football squad is a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference while the wrestling team competes in the Western Wrestling Conference.

In addition, our Equestrian program is affiliated with Varsity Equestrian and the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.
