Information for High School Counselors

Let us help you help your students

SDSU is dedicated to serving the citizens of South Dakota, but we appreciate the importance of attracting a diverse student body. We actively encourage students from all over the country (and world, too) to apply. Our tremendous range of academic offerings (more than 200 majors, minors, and other programs) holds something for everyone. And our tuition and financial aid make SDSU a remarkable value. We invite all prospective students and their families to visit campus to discover first-hand what makes SDSU special.

As a high school counselor, you are already committed to helping students succeed during and after high school.  We want to help.

Here are the top three things we think you should know that will help you when working with students who are interested in learning more about SDSU:

  1. Making a campus visit is one of the most important steps in the college search process.  We welcome students to experience SDSU first-hand when they set up a personalized visit to our campus.
  2. SDSU’s admission requirements are important to know about as you help students plan their schedules each year.
  3. The application process is pretty simple at SDSU, but we want to make it even easier for you to answer your students’ questions about how to apply to State.
