The Office of Academic Affairs at South Dakota State University strengthens the university community through its support of student and faculty scholarship and professional development. Academic Affairs fosters excellence in student preparation and instruction and sets academic priorities to strategically lead SDSU into the future. 

The Office provides administrative oversight and leadership of the academic policies that govern students at SDSU. From developing curriculum and compiling the University Bulletin to coordinating academic certification and accreditation, Academic Affairs cultivates distinction in instruction, programming, and the academic environment. 

Academic Affairs also oversees and supports faculty development and scholarship. The Office is the resource for academic policies and procedures including the Academic Senate, promotion and tenure process, and professional development opportunities.

Finally, through several awards, the Office of Academic Affairs recognizes achievements in teaching/learning, discovery, and engagement.
